The 2016 Las Vegas World Market is in the history books.
Imagine artwork made of colorful beetles, flying carousel horses, or a mirror surrounded by old paint cans— now that’s thinking outside the box! Being creative and unusual was definitely the theme for wall decor this season.
Next came chair design. Artistic styling and clever application of fabrics is on trend for this year’s new look in chairs. Surprisingly, all the chairs in the pictures were actually comfortable— imagine you can have style and comfort.
The colors being shown were much the same as last summer. The big splashes were vibrant orange, deep blue, lime green, and spa blue. I only saw one example of one of the colors of the year on a dramatic headboard by Christopher Guy. Look at this Rose Quartz silk pebble-looking bed ensemble.
Rugs, rugs, and more rugs. I saw a huge array of stylings in rugs. There were the ocean inspired, to the whimsical, to the bright flamboyant styling and everything in between. If you have a space for an area rug, there is a style for you!
Lighting covered the full gamut as well. I saw large crystal rings suspended from wires over a dining table. I saw curtain of illuminated glass fish, unusual outdoor lights, smokestack looking lamp shades, and starbursts just to name a few. Again ” thinking outside the box” was the theme this year.
Last but not least, what would Vegas be without some fun? Getting mushy with playful signs, adding color to bathroom with hand blown glass balls, playing chess with big boy chess pieces, or turning your cabinets into works of art with custom knobs and pulls— it’s all good!
